The Las Vegas Great Santa Run

If you want to see 11,221 runners dressed as Santa Clause running a 5K race through downtown Las Vegas, then attend the annual Las Vegas Great Santa Run. That’s how many runners turned up this year. There’s also a 1K Kris Kringle walk.

As you can see from the photo, the couture was included in the race package. The shifting sea of Santas is a sight to behold.

This being Las Vegas, local entertainers performed for the crowd. This year the Jabbawockeez, Jersey Boys’ Jeff Liefbow and DJ Mikey P kept the crowd entertained as the runners huffed and puffed. This year’s grand marshal was Shania Twain.

The $40 entry fee for the race, which will celebrate its 10th year in 2014, benefits Opportunity Village, a popular local charity dedicated to helping people with intellectual disabilities.
