One of my favorite things about Easter, raised Jewish, is the annual Easter egg hunt. I just love Easter egg hunts.
As a single mother, I took my son to a hunt every year until he thought searching for interesting women was much more fun.
Existential question: Why isn’t there an Easter egg hunt for adults? I would soooo be there.
Here are seven kewl places to hunt for those eggs right here in Las Vegas.
Downtown Summerlin (Summerlin)
The Golden Easter Egg Hunt happens tomorrow, Saturday, at 1 pm. You are searching for golden eggs through the center from Dillard’s to Crate & Barrel. The lucky person who finds the big golden egg wins a family four-pack to “Roald Dahl’s Charlie and The Chocolate Factory” at the Smith Center. (The play is part of the Broadway Las Vegas series.)
But there will be a lot of winners. Prizes include candy, gift cards, swag, a Google Home Mini, a Fitbit Alta and a Instax 9 Mini Instant Camera. Trade the eggs you find for these goodies at the Concierge Tent located in the Macy’s Promenade.
This hunt is FREE.
Tivoli Village (Summerlin)
The open-air shopping center hosts its fifth annual Hop and Bop Easter Egg Hunt and Festival tomorrow from 11-3. Sunshine Nevada hosts this event for special needs children and their families. There will be an Easter egg hunt for the special needs kids and their siblings. The Easter bunny will be there too. There will be music and dancing and a bungee jump.
Please register in advance for this one.
Whitney Ranch Recreation Center (Henderson)
The sixth annual Spring Carnival & Hippity-Hop Egg Hunt starts tomorrow from 9 -1. Everyone who wants to participate has to register by 9:30 to pick up your wristband.
The egg hunt goes off in tranches based on age:
- 10. Kids one to three.
- 10:45. Kids four to seven
- 11:30. Kids eight to 10
The Spring Carnival includes a bounce house.
This hunt costs $6 per child.
Heritage Park Aquatic Complex (Henderson)
An aquatic Easter egg hunt. Who knew? Hundreds of Easter eggs sit at the bottom of the pool. Children compete against kids their age to gather the eggs for prizes. You must bring your own basket.
The event goes from 2-5 tomorrow. The egg dives start at 3.
In addition, there will be open swimming plus arts and crafts for the kids.
Cost: $5 per child.
Bass Pro Shops (Las Vegas)
The festivities here happen all week-end, starting today, including a FREE 4 x 6 photo with the Easter bunny. This being the digital age, the photographer will send you an Easter email greeting card with your photo. Just forward to your favorite friends and family members.
But the Easter egg hunt happens tomorrow from 2-3 for kids 2-10. After the kids find five eggs throughout the store, they can trade the eggs for candy at the Registration desk. Sponsored by your local dentist. (Just kidding.)
Town Square (Las Vegas)
Radio station Mix 94.1 hosts Town Square’s Easter festivities, called Hop and Shop.
There are both morning and afternoon Easter egg hunts. Register for the morning hunt at 8 and the afternoon hunt at noon. You have to be 1-10 to actually hunt. Please bring your own container.
The festival goes from 10-5.
St. Jude’s Ranch for Children (Boulder City)
The Boulder City charity hosts a morning full of fun. There’s an Easter Egg hunt from 10 to noon. There will be interactive games. And you can take a photo with the Easter bunny.
Cost: $1o per child. This includes a hot dog, chips and a drink. Plus ALL the money goes to the charity. You gotta love that.
